Onions are pages that stink, they are either broken or contain invalid links to mp3 files. mp3Salad only cares about finding real links to real mp3s, not getting sucked into an advertising honey pot and wasting your precious music searching time. Many website owners have picked up on the methods that mp3Salad and other Google Search Enginge Optimizers use to find mp3s and have designed specially crafted pages to trick users into visiting their site, once you get there all you get is advertisiments and not what you were looking for.

What technologies do you use?
mp3Salad was written using ColdFusion, Java and JavaScript. The site makes use of several free APIs and Open Source projects including Googles Search API which provides the backbone for the service.

Mp3s look like they load up real fast but do not play, why?
Mp3s that load up real fast but never play are most likely not mp3s at all. Pages that are Onions contain fake links to mp3s which are hard for Mp3Salad to indentify.
